Maintenance, Lubrication & Tyres
Maintenance, lubrication and tyres in one visit. Our MLT service covers oil, fluids, tyres, brakes and lights, so your vehicle stays safe, reliable and ready for the road.
Price TBC — Price depends on vehicle size and parts required.
Comprehensive scheduled maintenance including oil changes, lubrication of key components, and full tyre services — balancing, alignment, rotation and replacement.
Most breakdowns and expensive repairs start small: worn tyres below the legal 1.6mm tread depth, low or contaminated fluids, a bulb out, or brake components past their safe limit. An MLT service catches these early, while they're still cheap to put right, instead of after they've left you at the roadside.
Think of it as a full health check with the routine maintenance done at the same time: we change what's due, check everything that wears, and tell you clearly what's fine, what's getting close and what needs doing now.
The service starts with an engine oil and filter change using the grade your manufacturer specifies, plus a check of every other fluid that keeps the engine, brakes, steering and cooling system running — topping up anything low and flagging anything discoloured or contaminated before it causes damage further down the line.
Tyres get a full inspection: tread depth across the width of each tyre (uneven wear is often the first sign of a suspension or alignment problem), sidewall condition, and pressure. If you need new tyres, we fit and balance them on site; if the car pulls to one side or the steering wheel isn't straight at speed, a wheel alignment check sorts that out too.
Brakes are inspected front and back — pad and disc wear, fluid condition, and the handbrake — along with lights, wipers, washers, horn, seatbelts and the other safety items that matter on the road. Anything that's marginal gets flagged with an honest estimate of how much life is left in it, not just a pass or fail.
Most vehicles are due an MLT service every 10,000–12,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first — and it's worth booking ahead of long trips or a busy season for your business. Cold weather is particularly hard on ageing tyres and batteries too, so an autumn service is a good time to get both checked before winter.
A lot of the checks in an MLT service are things you could technically do yourself — topping up oil, checking tyre pressures — but the value is in catching what's easy to miss: a brake pad with a few millimetres left, a tyre wearing unevenly on the inside edge where you can't see it without taking the wheel off, or a fluid that looks fine but has absorbed enough moisture to affect braking performance. That's the difference between a check and an inspection.
Book online or by phone and we'll ask for your registration and roughly how many miles the car has done since its last service — that's usually enough for us to know what the service should cover before you arrive. Most MLT services are completed within a few hours, and we'll call before doing anything beyond the standard checklist if something unexpected turns up.
If something needs attention beyond the basic service — a tyre below the legal limit, a brake component near the end of its life — we'll show you what we found and quote it separately before doing any extra work, rather than assuming you want everything fixed in one visit. You decide what gets done and when, based on what's urgent and what can wait until the next service.
We service cars, vans and light commercial vehicles across Ipswich and East Anglia, and the same MLT checks we run on customer cars are the ones we use to keep our own fleet of 90+ commercial vehicles on the road daily. Book online or get an instant quote by registration — we'll confirm the exact price before any work starts.
